The menubar concept is great because it provides your users with easy access to common operations you want to perform. The equivalent of the menubar on the Windows Phone is the ApplicationBar. Much like the menubar in desktop applications, the ApplicationBar also provides your users with easy access to common operations, and it does so via clickable Buttons and MenuItems that expand and collapse as you play with it. Expression Encoder 4 Pro for Silverlight Video Players - Mike Taulty

I use Expression Encoder 4 Pro quite a lot as I’ve put together a number of screen capture videos. I tend to use it in order to capture screencasts and then I transcode them to some other format (e.g. H.264) and publish them somewhere. If they’re going on the Channel 9 site then I leave them in H.264 and upload them to the site where they appear in a standard Silverlight-based player that runs on the site. Beyond that, I’ve been using Vimeo which takes the H.264 and offers it back in a Flash-based play... (more)

Today, I finally figured out what the problem is. (Yes, I have been piddling with this application since early this year. I'm pretty sure Scott has a special ulcer just for me and Shoebox scan (more)

Any errors here are mine and any speculation here is likely nonsense. Two fixes for DynamicOrientationChanges improve the experience of animating and fading Windows Phone orientation changes - David Anson

I've written about how my DynamicOrientationChanges classes improve the user experience for Windows Phone 7 applications by animating device orientation changes. For "in your face" transitions, there's AnimateOrientationChangesFrame which animates the rotation interactively (but might get bogged down by complex layouts). For more subtle transitions that perform smoothly regardless of how complex the page layout is, there's FadeOrientationChangesFrame which fades between the before/after layouts. Both c... (more)
