Introduction In case you missed the news today, the Windows Phone 7.8 SDK has been released. Thee first question posted on the blog was: Where is the offline installer? In which the following answer was given: @Necroman - Unfortunately, we don't have an ISO/offline installer for the update. I'll inquire and see if we can get one spun up, but I wouldn't count on it short term. :) (more)

From being featured on The Morning Brew to being featured in the ASP.NET community Spotlight, it seems that I have hit on a topic that a lot of people are interested in. Introduction Through and through I love XAML. I love building and working with SL, WPF, WP7, and Windows 8 XAML Metro Apps. But one thing that I’m aiming for is to have an understanding of other web applications frameworks (MVC in particular). Mainly for two reasons, to become better informed and for my passion of helping customers of Telerik to find suitable web solutions (be it Silverlight, WebForms, MVC, etc). I am not brand new to MVC as I have worked with it before, but I feel that it is time for m... (more)

I have been playing with the Windows 8 Consumer Preview since the day it was released. It is my primary operating system at nights and weekends. Since I have been investing a lot of time in Windows 8, I thought I’d share 10 things that I certainly didn’t know about Windows 8 at first. This list should be helpful for someone new to Windows 8, but a power-user may learn a thing or two as well. (more)

Retrieving a WebPage Title and Sharing it with the ShareLinkTask in WP7Jan 72012  Introduction The ShareLinkTask introduced in Windows Phone SDK 7.1 enables users to share a link on various social networks like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Adding an Easter Egg to your WP7 ApplicationDec 262011Introduction I was asked the other day how to detect if a user has touched a certain part of the screen. I created some sample code for them but decided that it might make a fun Easter egg as well.  It does this by comparing the X and Y axis of the users current touch point to the location that the “M” exists. Basically, this application will detect if your user is touching the letter M as shown below.  The User Interface Very simple, just add in... (more)
