In a previous blog post, I wrote about the built in support that .NET has for in-memory caching. It sits under the System.Runtime.Caching namespace and can be easily added to any application to give you a great improvement in performance. You can store any type of object in the cache and this makes it extremely useful for storing different types of data. (more)

There is no formal build and publishing process for Websites in Visual Studio 2010, it is really a set of files and folders. If you use the web site templates while creating a project in Visual Studio 2010 then publishing experience is vastly different from what available on web application projects. New updates have been released for improving publishing experience in Visual Studio 2010 and Visual Studio 2012 as part of the Windows Azure SDK release. The new publishing features are available for both we... (more)

I wanted to attempt a brief post before the holidays, so I decided to quickly revisit part a post I wrote a few weeks back on The Generic Func Delegates, and in particular, the sidebar on using Func as a generator for unit testing. At the time, I did not give that short sidebar the attention I really wanted, including showing the setup of the unit tests and discussing the performance impact (if any) of such a practice. So this week I hope to rectify this by revisiting and enhancing the discussion. (more)

Yesterday, we have learnt how to implement default Bundling and Minification with ASP.NET MVC 4 application as well we also examined how to create custom bundle which bundle and minify only specified files. While creating custom bundle, we suppose to pass transform type to bundle. Microsoft.Web.Optimization assembly shipped with two inbuilt transform type namely JsMinify and CssMinify. In addition to built-in transform type, we can also create our own custom transform type. Today we will examine how to c... (more)
