The implication of OPEX is that you do not have to expend capital to buy hardware and software or to pay for support staff to maintain it. That is the good news. Monitoring Applications in Windows Azure Hedgehog’s Cloud Application Monitor was created to fill a gap in creating application for the Azure Cloud. There is no easy way to monitor applications running in the cloud, and no quickly accessible repository of historical data. The Cloud Application Monitor downloads diagnostic information from the cloud and stores it in a local SQL server database. Hedgehog has posted this application on Codeplex as a free download. (more)
