This is a challenge to identify the downtime of servers from the log data generated by a monitoring application.There is a monitoring application that keeps checking the status of several servers at 5 minute intervals. When the monitoring application finds that a particular server is down, it adds a record into the log table. (more)

Many times during ETL we have a requirement where based on the file name we have to perform certain operations. Normally within a For Each Loop with File enumerator in Control Flow Task there is no direct way of doing this. If the file mask matches, well and good but nothing beyond that (more)

When we create a new database using SSMS, by default Page Verify Option for database is set to CHECKSUM, which is a recommended option and it helps detecting corruption. This setting is used to discover and report incomplete I/O transactions caused by disk I/O errors. (more)
